La canción fue lanzada como el primer promo del EP el 25 de octubre de 2010.

"We R Who We Are" debutó directamente en la posición Nº 1 de la Billboard Hot 100 de los Estados Unidos, donde los entonces últimos dos sencillos que habían conseguido registrar dicha hazaña, habían sido los éxitos "3" de Britney Spears y "Not Afraid" de Eminem.
