En la historia del rock chileno, La Ley ocupó un lugar importante. Durante su estancia, Beto Cuevas logró quizás llevar a la cumbre a la banda, que incluso se dio el lujo de tener un disco desenchufado con MTV. Un material inolvidable sin duda alguna. Sin embargo, hay un tema que sobresale por la mezcla de las voces del vocalista y la mexicana Ely Guerra: El duelo. Ovación.

Canciones que marcan de una u otra manera a quien las escucha, y que a pesar del paso del tiempo, no pierden vigencia o no parecen envejecer. Chenoa lanza 'doloroso' videoclip

Chenoa está imparable. El año pasado fue una de las artistas del pop en español que tuvo más presencia en las emisoras radiales y más visitas en las páginas de internet gracias a su inocentón y dulce álbum Absurda Cenicienta, que le hizo ganar una legión de fans tanto en España como en Latinoamérica.

Con lo bien que le fue, una nueva producción ya se esperaba, pero no tan pronto. Sin embargo, Chenoa se puso a trabajar duro y ya tiene lo que será su quinto disco de estudio: Desafiando la gravedad.

La onda pop que la ha hecho famosa se mantendrá presente, pero tomará un aire mucho más serio. Al menos, eso se puede apreciar en Duele, un balada cuya letra conmueve. ¿Qué se escuchará en el álbum que la misma cantante ha calificado como el más directo y guerrero de su carrera?

Si no hubiese sido por el buen gusto de Mike Nichols a la hora de ponerle música a su película Closer, seguramente muchos seguiríamos ignorando la existencia de Damien Rice. ¿Que quién es? Una de las voces más privilegiadas de esta era que, como mucha otra gente talentosa, no goza de la suficiente difusión. Aquí les ofrecemos The Blower's Daughter, el tema que el mencionado director hizo popular en su filme. Sin duda, una joya.

No tenemos dudas de que la época dorada de muchos géneros musicales fue la década de los ochenta. El disco, por ejemplo, tuvo su apogeo en esos años y canciones como Footloose de Kenny Loggins (tema principal de la película homónima protagonizada por Kevin Bacon), no hacían más que llamar al baile y a la noche. Un recuerdo que resucita cada vez que un DJ tiene la ocurrencia de desempolvar su colección.

A fines de los años setenta, un grupo conformado por cinco hombres logró ponerse en boca de todos gracias a su cuestionada virilidad y a la extraña coreografía que adornó una de sus canciones. ¿Ya tienen idea de quienes estamos hablando? Pues de los casi extintos Village People y su celebérrimo y aún presente YMCA, tema en el que el doble sentido de la letra puso a persignarse a un grupo cristiano de su época. Ahora sólo se baila y disfruta.

Michael Jackson por fin podrá descansar en paz

En lo que va de la década, ninguna muerte ha marcado tanto el mundo de la música y el espectáculo alrededor del mundo como la suya. Y ninguna tampoco ha sido objeto de tantas especulaciones para llegar a una conclusión realmente escalofriante.

Michael Jackson murió de una sobredosis administrada por su propio médico, acusado ahora de homicidio, en un caso que se había vuelto tan complicado con varios giros e involucrados en la historia.

En fin. El Rey del Pop por fin mañana podrá descansar en paz, y el lugar elegido para hacerlo ha sido el cementerio Forest Lawn de Glendale, Los Ángeles, a donde sólo podrán entrar lso familiares y amigos cercanos. Mejor dicho: no flashes, no espectáculo y mucha seguridad. Ojalá este sí sea el cierre definitivo para este temprano adiós.
