Después de que Madonna escandalizara a medio mundo con su Like a Virgin, algunos pensaron que sólo sería una moda que no pasaría de los años ochenta. Se equivocaron. El factor sorpresa ha sido siempre una constante en sus producciones, y después de mostrar rebeldía no hizo más que ofrecer una nueva imagen en La isla bonita, tema en el que no sólo cambió el ritmo sino la composición visual en su videoclip. Sin duda, uno de sus clásicos y de sus primeras canciones en las que balbuceaba el español.
