Pese a esta condición -que tiene peso para los prejuiciosos-, ha sabido demostrar que es un artista completo y filmes de temática como Brokeback Mountain no podían dejarlo de lado en su banda sonora. The maker makes fue el tema que Rufus presentó para la película, y en él no sólo hace gala de su buena mano a la hora de componer, sino también de un tiembre de voz especial. Muy bueno.
